What is the best app for a step challenge with friends?
Rally lets you start a step challenge with one friend or a whole group in a few taps. Steps come straight from Apple Health, so nobody has to log anything, and a live leaderboard shows who's ahead until the challenge ends.
How do I compete with friends to use my phone less?
Start a Screen Time Rally. Each person's screen time is measured on their own iPhone with Apple's Screen Time, and the lowest total wins. It's an easy way to keep each other honest about scrolling.
Can we put money on a fitness challenge with friends?
Yes. When you create a Rally you can agree on a friendly stake, like $5 each. Rally never holds or moves money: when the Rally ends it shows who owes who, and friends pay each other directly with Venmo, Cash App, PayPal or cash. Rally doesn't take a cut. Rallies with money are for people 18 and over.
Is Rally a gambling or betting app?
No. Rally doesn't take bets, hold a pot or pay out winnings. It's a scorekeeper for friends who already know each other: it tracks results and keeps a tally of who owes who, and people settle up with each other outside the app.
Does Rally work with Apple Health and Apple Watch?
Yes. Rally reads steps, distance, workouts and active minutes from Apple Health, which includes activity recorded by an Apple Watch. Health data is only used to score the challenges you join and is never used for advertising.
Can I start a challenge in iMessage?
Yes. Open Rally from the apps row in any Messages chat, pick a challenge and a stake, and send it. Your friends join with one tap.
How do we keep score for iMessage games like 8 Ball or Cup Pong?
Create a game Rally for 8 Ball, Cup Pong, Word Hunt, Darts and more. When you're done playing, everyone votes on who won and the majority decides. Rally keeps the running record so you know who's really on top.
Can Rally track sports with friends, like tennis or pickleball?
Yes. Make a Rally for tennis, basketball, golf, pickleball, bowling and other sports, 1-on-1 or as a group tournament. The players vote on the result afterwards.
Can a friend keep me accountable for a personal goal?
Yes. Set a solo goal, like 10,000 steps a day, and pick a friend to keep you honest. They can follow your progress and cheer you on.
What happens if someone doesn't pay up?
Rally reminds them, and the person being paid confirms when the money arrives. Anyone with an overdue payment can't start or join another Rally with money until they settle up.
How does Rally stop cheating?
Fitness and screen time scores come straight from Apple Health and Screen Time on each person's iPhone, not typed in. Games and sports are decided by a majority vote, and a tie gets 3 more days to agree.
Is Rally free? Is it on Android?
Rally is free to download and has no in-app purchases. It's available for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). Android isn't available yet.
